Realme 8 Pro Review India 2021

Realme 8 Pro Review .RealMe has recently launched its 8 Series RealMe 8 and RealMe 8 Pro. These smartphones are the successors of RealMe 7 and RealMe 7 Pro respectively and have some good hardware with AMOLED display. So Realme 8 Pro is a worthwhile upgrade over Realme 7 Pro, and should you choose it over Redmi Note 10 Pro? I put it to the test to find out.

Price of RealMe 8 Pro in India

The base variant of Realme 8 Pro 6GB RAM and 128GB storage starts at Rs 17,999, while the second variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage costs Rs. 19,999. My Genuine 8 Pro comes in three color options: Infinite Blue, Infinite Black, and Yellow Illumination. The latter features a glow-in-the-dark dungeon, which is currently the most unusual design element.

Realme has adopted a new way of design and Realme 8 Pro has some bold styling. The company has written its tagline “Dare to Leap” on the back of the smartphone. The text has a glossy finish that is finely finished over the rest of the back. Realme also went with bright colors for this smartphone, called Infinite Blue and Illuminating Yellow. If you like micro, the infinite block option is for you.

The other main attraction of RealMe 8 Pro is its cameras. It has a quad-camera setup at the rear, which extends into a two-step design. The first stage has flash, while the second has four personal camera lenses. I found RealMe 8 Pro to be relatively slim and easy to use. The smartphone has a curved backside, which makes it comfortable to hold the device. Realme 8 Pro Review

From the front, RealMe 8 Pro looks similar to its predecessor, RealMe 7Pro. It still has a larger 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display, a hole-punch front camera in the upper left corner. The beard is larger in comparison but the border on the sides is acceptable. The frame of RealMe 8 Pro is made of plastic and the power and volume buttons are on the right side. These buttons are well placed and easily accessible for use with one hand. While the SIM tray is on the left, all ports are on the bottom.

You get a 4,500 mAh battery, which is an average for smartphones these days. This helped the 8 Pro weigh up to 176 grams, and at a thickness of 8.1 mm. The battery has 50W fast charging capacity and is packed with a 65W charger in the RealMe box.

RealMe 8 Pro specifications and software

Realme is not surrounded by specifications and is compared to RealMe 7 Pro () review), it does not change much. RealMe 8 Pro still has a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED panel with full-HD + resolution and in-display fingerprint scanner. It also runs on the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor, and the RAM and storage combination does not change with 6GB or 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. Battery capacity is also at 4,500 mAh, but RealMe 7 Pro can charge at 65W while charging speed is limited to 50W.

The RealMe 8Pro has a great performance compared to the RealMe8 Pro, but this new model loses stereo speakers and uses Asahi DragonTrail reinforced glass instead of Corning Gorilla Glass. You should settle for Bluetooth 5.0 instead of Bluetooth 5.1. On the other hand, an improved primary camera and some improvements compared to Android 11 out of the box Android 10, which offered RealMe 7 Pro.

RealMe February offers its custom RealMe UI 2.0 on Android 11 with Android security patch, which is a bit outdated at the moment. The UI is optimized but not confusing. You can easily find the right settings. The Settings app has a section called Realme Labs, which has experimental beta features that you can try before presenting it in a software update.

RealMe 8 Pro has a decent amount of pre-installed bloatware. Unlike some Google apps, this is Flipkart, Amazon, RealMe Community, Hyphen, Snapchat and a few other apps. I got some spam notifications from Hafen, Theme Store and Browser.

Realme 8 Pro Performance

RealMe 8 Pro was able to provide good performance and I had no problem using it with everyday applications. The display is crisp and bright enough from the outside, although I like the stereo speakers. I found that the in-display fingerprint scanner was faster to unlock the smartphone.

RealMe 8 Pro runs Call of Duty Mobile without any problems, and it defaults to higher presets for graphics and frame rates. The game is fine in these settings and I could not see any logs or stutter. RealMe 8 Pro warmed up the touch slightly after 20 minutes of play and recorded a six percent battery drop.

RealMe 8 Pro has a 108-megapixel primary camera

I run our entire benchmark to see how Realme 8 Pro pays against some competition. On AnTuTu, it scored 2,87,443 points compared to 852 on PCMark Work 2.0. In the graphics benchmark GFXBench’s T-Rex and car chase scenes, RealMe 8 Pro achieved 60fps and 16fps respectively. Surprisingly scores include the RealMe8 with its cheaper sibling.

The battery in RealMe 8 Pro lasted me for one and a half days. In our HD video loop test, the phone was able to run for 26 hours and 14 minutes, a very good score.
